Tra i 5 pollici dell’internet tablet ed i 9 pollici del pc tablet Archos trova la via di mezzo con un home tablet dotato di touchscreen da 7 pollici e sistema operativo Android.

Il dispositivo ha uno spessore di 12 mm, un peso di soli 350 g ed è equipaggiato con un processore ARM 9 a 600 MHz, connettività WiFi, porta USB e batteria con autonomia di 7 ore nella riproduzione di video o 44 ore nella riproduzione di musica.

L’Archos 7 dovrebbe essere in vendita dalla prossima settimana a 179 € per la versione da 8 GB, già ordinabile da Redcoon, ma Archos prevede di mettere in commercio anche una versione da 2 GB a 149 €.

Il prezzo è molto interessante, addirittura inferiore a quello dell’Archos 5 internet tablet che però dispone di ricevitore GPS integrato, ma entro l’estate Archos dovrebbe presentare anche altri modelli con touchscreen da 3 a 10 pollici e processore ARM Cortex a 1 GHz.

BINATONE HOMESURF 8"

Binatone from the UK has sent their 8-inch Android-powered tablet to the FCC, where it will be known as the HomeSurf 8. Boasting an 800 x 600 resolution display, the HomeSurf 8 will feature Wi-Fi connectivity since there isn't any mention of a 3G radio which is a bummer, as that means you can only rely on Wi-Fi hotspots to stay connected to the Internet instead of being able to enjoy anytime, anywhere connectivity. One the bright side, at least it can handle Angry Birds, eh? Other hardware specifications include 2GB of internal memory, a microSD memory card slot for expansion purposes as well as support for the Aldiko eBook store. Each HomeSurf 8 will be accompanied by a charging speaker dock which holds the tablet in an upright position, while we await for news on pricing and availability.
